Intro
The Oregon Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) is accepting scholarship applications for students who will be enrolled full-time at a community college or university for the 2026–2027 academic year. Eligible applicants include sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Scholarships may be used for tuition expenses.
Key dates and award information
- Application deadline: May 1, 2026 (postmark/receipt by this date required).
- Total funds available: up to $9,000.00.
- Scholarship recipients may be announced at the OCA Mid-Year meeting on June 26, 2026, in Madras, Oregon.
- Award payments will be made directly to the recipient’s school to cover tuition.
Who may apply (Eligibility)
- Current members of the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association and their children.
- Students must be enrolled full-time for the 2026–2027 academic year at a community college or four-year university and be classified as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Applicants from any academic major may apply, but the application must show some connection or relevance to the livestock industry.
Application requirements and submission instructions
- Deadline: All application materials must be postmarked, faxed, emailed, or hand-delivered by May 1, 2026. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
- Hand-delivered applications must arrive before the OCA office closes at 5:00 PM on the deadline day.
- Email submissions may be sent to jem.connelly@orcattle.com with the subject line “Scholarship.” Fax submissions may be sent to (503) 361-8947.
- Applicants are responsible for ensuring their applications (including all attachments) are complete and received by the OCA by the deadline.
- Use the current application form for the 2026–2027 academic year (the form will show the applicable year at the top). Applications submitted on outdated forms will not be accepted.
- If you need extra space to answer questions, additional sheets are acceptable if each answer is clearly labeled to indicate the corresponding question. Do not use report covers or binders.
Transcripts
- Include official or unofficial transcripts covering your last full academic year. If you attended more than one institution during that year, transcripts from each school must be provided. These transcripts will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
Signature and contact information
- The application must include your signature and complete contact information. Incomplete applications or those lacking a signature will be deemed ineligible.
- Attach any additional documents necessary for clarity or readability.
Notification and payment
- Award recipients will be notified by email. Scholarship funds will be remitted directly to the recipient’s institution to be applied toward tuition.
