Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Panhellenic offers scholarships that reflect the organization’s commitment to character built through service and strong academic performance. These awards support young women who have demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to helping others.

Scholarship: Ralph H. and Ruth Frank Gross Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Ralph H. and Ruth Frank Gross to honor their belief in the value of education, this fund is intended to assist often-unrecognized government employees and their families in advancing their lives through education. The scholarship supports study at colleges, universities, or vocational schools in Florida. Now accepting applications for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Award amount
$500 to $2,500 per recipient.

Application deadline
All materials must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on April 30, 2026.

General eligibility requirements
- Must demonstrate financial need and cannot be receiving any other scholarship or grant.
- Must be a resident of the State of Florida.
- Graduating high school applicants must have an SAT combined Critical Reading + Math (CR + MA) score of at least 1100 and submit official high school transcripts.
- Intended study must be at a college, university, or vocational institution located in Florida; attendance may be full- or part-time. Graduate students are not eligible.
- Agree to abstain from tobacco products, illegal drugs, and alcohol abuse for the duration of the award.
- Agree not to join a social sorority or fraternity while the award is in effect; membership in honorary, academic, or professional Greek organizations is permitted.
- If the applicant’s employer offers a tuition reimbursement program, the applicant may be ineligible for this scholarship.

Employment-related eligibility (applicant must meet at least one)
- Be a current full-time employee of a governmental entity in Broward County.
- Be a retired or former employee who was employed full-time by a Broward County governmental entity for at least five continuous years.
- Be a former employee who became disabled as a result of performing job duties while employed full-time for at least five years by a Broward County governmental entity.
- Be the spouse (or former spouse, married for at least five years) or child of a current full-time Broward County government employee, or the spouse/child of an employee who meets one of the above employment criteria, or the spouse/child of an employee who was killed in the line of duty after working full-time for at least five years for a Broward County governmental entity.
