Overview
Since 1988 the Chapter has provided nearly $1.6 million in aid through 669 scholarships to New York State students pursuing college degrees in construction or construction-related engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical). Each July the Chapter awards undergraduate and graduate scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000.
Who is eligible
- Applicants must be residents of New York State (they may be enrolled at a college or university outside New York).
- Undergraduate applicants must be entering the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a two‑ or four‑year college program.
- Candidates must be committed to a career in building, highway, or utility construction.
- Eligible programs: Bachelor’s or Associate degrees in construction or construction‑related engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
- Minimum GPA: 2.50.
- Undergraduates may reapply annually for up to three years of undergraduate study; many recipients receive awards in multiple years.
- Graduate students are eligible for a one‑year scholarship if enrolled full‑time in an advanced construction‑related program and pursuing a career in the industry.
Application requirements
- Complete the online application.
- Provide three evaluations (references).
- Submit an official academic transcript.
Deadlines and submission
Applications are due by the first Friday in May (deadline: May 1, 2026). The application must be completed online. If you do not finish the form in one session, a link will be emailed to you so you can resume from where you left off.
