Introduction
The Wyoming Trucking Association (WTA) provides annual financial support to Wyoming students preparing for careers tied to highway transportation. Each year, scholarships are distributed from the WTA Scholarship Fund, memorial funds, and donations from member companies. Awards are issued directly to the recipient’s educational institution for use toward tuition and related expenses.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a graduate of a Wyoming high school.
- Intend to enroll at an approved Wyoming university, community college, or technical/trade school.
Recommended fields of study
Scholarships are intended for students pursuing programs that lead to transportation-related careers, including but not limited to:
- Business Administration
- Transportation Management
- Risk Management
- Accounting
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Industrial Engineering
- Information Technology / Information Systems
- Diesel Mechanics
- Truck Driving
Application materials
To be considered, applicants must submit the following information via the online application:
- Personal information (contact details, current school, parent/guardian information)
- Academic documentation (GPA, transcripts, and test scores if available)
- One-page essay addressing: “How is the trucking industry important to you and the State of Wyoming?”
- Summary of activities and work experience
- Statement of future plans outlining career goals and objectives
- Financial need statement
- References or letters of recommendation
