Operations and Power Division (OPD) Scholarship — Overview
The OPD Scholarship supports students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in nuclear science or nuclear engineering at accredited U.S. colleges and universities. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria below and provide documentation of their academic record.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution in a degree program in nuclear science or nuclear engineering.
- For students in a four‑year nuclear science or engineering curriculum, a minimum of two full academic years must have been completed.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status.
- Academic performance must be verified with an official transcript.
Important Dates
- Applications become available: November 15
- ANS Common Application and all Named scholarships deadline: February 1
- Notification window for award decisions: April 15 – May 1
- Scholarship funds issued to the recipient’s department head: after August 20
