Introductory note
The University of Alabama provides some of the most competitive scholarship packages in the state for eligible Alabama residents. To improve your chances of receiving awards, follow the steps below.

How to maximize scholarship consideration
1) Apply for admission and scholarship consideration
- Submit your application for admission (in-state applicants can use the UA Undergraduate Application at no cost).
- If you plan to enroll for summer or fall 2026, make sure your application and all required supporting documents are submitted by the December 5 priority deadline.
2) Complete additional scholarship forms in ASAM
- Log in to the Alabama Scholarship Award Manager (ASAM) and fill out any supplemental scholarship applications required there.
3) File the FAFSA
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure eligibility for need-based aid and to complete your scholarship profile.
